From our home
The Wonder Weeks calls this principles. In simple terms, your toddler is learning that they can choose what to do and change their plan. They are not learning adult rules or fairness yet.
What to expect
- Choosing between two familiar things.
- Trying another way when something does not work.
- Copying an adult's actions during play.
What can help
- Offer two small choices when either answer is safe.
- Show one simple way to solve the problem.
- Use short words when frustration turns into a tantrum.
