Growth spurt · Around 1 month
The 4–6 week growth spurt
Feeds can bunch together again. Watch nappies, comfort and growth — not only the clock.

From our home
Around 4–6 weeks many babies cluster feed, especially in the evening. This often sits next to Leap 1. Little and often can simply be how a small baby grows.
What to expect
- Several feeds close together.
- A few restless nights, then a calmer stretch.
- Baby may seem hungrier, then settle again.
Get help if something feels off
A baby who is unusually sleepy, feeds poorly, has fewer wet nappies, has a fever or seems unwell needs medical advice. Do not wait for a growth-spurt window to pass.
