The Wonder Weeks calls this sequences. A sequence is simply doing one action and then another in the right order. Your baby may repeat two small steps while playing or eating.
What to expect
- Putting an object into a container.
- Copying a wave, clap or simple action.
- Trying the same two steps again and again.
What can help
- Play simple games: pick up, put in, tip out.
- Show one or two steps slowly, then let them try.
- Use short words for the order: 'In, then out.'
